I am currently a Junior studying Elementary Education at Iowa State University with a cumulative GPA of 3.88. I am getting my endorsements in English/Language Arts and Reading. I also plan on getting my Art endorsement in the future.
Experience
I have worked with young children throughout my entire life. My mother has owned her own daycare for 25 years in which I have gained quality experience working with kids. I also worked at an after school program at Wallace Elementary in Johnston, working with kids from kindergarten through fifth grade. At this job I would often help kids who were struggling with their homework and would help the younger children (kindergarten-first grade) with their reading skills. I have also planned and taught my own art camps at the local art museum in my hometown, so I have experience with lesson planning and teaching in that aspect. I have always had a passion for kids and learning and take time to get to know each child I work with. I think it is important to get to know each child's individual interests, personalities, and strengths and areas of improvement in the lines of his or her learning habits.

Hobbies
I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading (when I get the chance!) writing, running, and painting. I was initially going to school to become an art teacher, however I realized that working with K-3 students is my true calling. I hope to get my art endorsement so I can become an art teacher as well.
