Hey guys! My name is Carissa Woods. I attend Iowa State University of Science & Technology because I received a full ride scholarship. I am doing a double-major...pre-med and psychology. I wish I could also major in language. I've taken French for 5 years and also lived in Canada for 3 years, which gave me more exposure to French. I went on a mission trip to Haiti over the summer and loved the people so much that now I'm learning Spanish to stay in touch with my Haitian connects! I'm very knowledgable and extremely friendly! I love to have fun, I love to learn, and most importantly I love to have fun while I'm learning!
Experience
I love Math so when I was a Junior in High School, I tutored college students in Music Theory, Piano, French, Algebra, and College Algebra! I've also tutored elementary and middle school kids at my church. My ACT score and GPA are the reason I got a full ride to Iowa State. I got a 29 on the ACT the first time I took it! That was due to plenty of preparation without having to pay for a class. I can definately help anyone with ACT Prep. I want to be a tutor because I love to help people and I'm very passionate about education. Education is the key to everyone's future. And with the economy being the way it is right now, getting good scholarships for college is important. I'm here to help anyone I can succeed and make it through these tough high school years! Just an interesting fact about me...all of the scholarships I have for college are academic. Not only did I get a full ride scholarship, but I also received many local scholarships based on my ACT score and my GPA. Another interesting fact...I was the only high school student to ever get an internship at Hamilton Sundstrand, which is an engineering company. They have college interns to help them with their education. However, my resume and personality landed me the job. That's pretty good to say I made their history :)

Hobbies
I'm a sports girl. I like to play volleyball, basketball, and bowl. I also love to sing, teach choirs, and to play the piano. Music is my first love. I love teaching the choirs at my church!
