In December 2008, I graduated Cum Laude from Iowa State University with a B.A. in journalism and mass communication and a minor in Spanish, with additional coursework in women's studies, English and fashion. I will be living in Ames for the spring 2009 semester to finish my apartment lease. My ultimate goal is to earn a Ph.D. in journalism and obtain a professorship in which I can teach courses in journalism and gender studies. Though I do not hold a degree in education, I am skilled in working with students as I spent approximately four semesters working as an undergraduate research/teaching assistant in the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication. For this position, I was required to proctor class activities, grade quizzes and exams, and assist in other school-related events. I also served one semester on the Greenlee School's curriculum committee, assisting faculty members in making important decisions related to curriculum.
