Experience

In High School I was a regular tutor for two students, but I often helped other students whenever they needed it, provided I was available. I received a 30 on my ACT test. I love helping people. I constantly look for ways that I can help others. I also know that one thing I am gifted at is academics, which made me want to use this for others. I'm not a super genius and I don't pretend to be, but I am persistent, determined, studious, and hard-working. Throughout High School I have taken Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, Pre-calculus, Geometry, Algebra 1 & 2, and Spanish 1-4. In addition to being a tutor, I was also a mentor in the Big Brother/Big Sister program. I was given the opportunity to spend time with a 4th grader every week and form a bond with her. This was one of the most valuable things I have ever done. I was consistently humbled and reminded to appreciate the little things and never take anything for granted.

Hobbies

I kept myself busy in High School. I was actively involved in sports, such as volleyball, basketball, track, cross country, and drill team. Also, I spent a great deal of my time in the band. I was in jazz band, concert band, and marching band. I was the drum major for marching band for two years. I am very involved with my church also. I went to church every Sunday (Church is like my second home), youth group every Sunday and Wednesday night, and then I had a Bible Study every Thursday. I was in National Honor Society, Student Council, Spanish Club, JEL, Big Brother/Big Sister, and I was a tutor. It is safe to say that I know how to manage a jam packed schedule and still maintain good grades. I graduated as Salutatorian in my High School, also.
