-Tutoring friends in classes I've taken before, tutoring elementary students in Ames on reading, tutoring elementary students in Urbandale on reading. -Overall ACT score: 30. English ACT score: 34. -When I graduate, I want to be a high school English teacher because I love working with others and helping them learn. Teaching others is a passion of mine and I don't want to do anything else with my life. I love watching children learn and grow, and tutoring is a great way to help others while I'm in school. -Psych 101, Psych 233 (Developmental Psych), English 396 (Young Adult Lit), English 219 (Linguistics/Grammar), English 250 (Writing/Comp), Curriculum and Instruction 280L (Observing elementary, middle, and high school classrooms), and Curriculum and Instruction 202 (Teaching techniques). I am also currently enrolled in British Literature, Descriptive English Grammar, and Educational Psych. -During breaks from school I go home and volunteer in my mother's classroom. My mother is a specialized reading teacher, she works with children who need extra reading help either one-on-one or in groups. When I volunteer with her I listen to children read aloud and work with them on reading skills. -Summer 2013 I worked for Adventuretime, a daycare in the Urbandale Community School District. I mainly worked with 5-6 year olds, but I did work with children grades K-5th. I was an associate and I supervised, led activities, and interacted with 5-6 year olds.
