I am a biology and curriculum instruction major at Iowa State University. I recently graduated from Des Moines Area Community College with an associate's of arts degree. I was in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and finished with a GPA of 3.87. I graduated salutatorian from Bondurant-Farrar high school with honors and an overall GPA of 3.92.
Experience
I tutored college biology, writing, math, and Spanish at DMACC. In high school I took the AP English literature and composition and the US history exams, passing both. I am interested in tutoring high school courses because I want to become a high school teacher in biology. I would like to tutor other high school courses aside from biology. I also am interested in tutoring junior high level courses. Since I graduated high school such a short time ago (2009), I have tried all of the study skills anyone could think of and have found which ones work for me. One major problems high school students have is just to get organized and effectively use their time.

Hobbies
I love cycling, hiking, reading, cooking, and gardening. I used to play the clarinet in high school, but it was one of the things that had to be cut from my busy schedule. I very much enjoy movies, crime and comedy tv shows, and wii games. AVAILABILITY NOTE: I would only like to tutor students around the Ames, IA area and in public places like the Ames library. I only have access to cyride, so please don't expect me to meet anywhere out of town.
