Private tutor in Ames, IA

Education

I am currently a freshman in Software Engineering at Iowa State University.

Experience

During middle school, I took Algebra 1 and Geometry, and then as a high school student, I took Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, and Calculus 2. ACT Composite: 34 ACT English: 35 ACT Math: 34 ACT Reading: 34 ACT Science: 32 AP Calculus AB: 4 As a senior in high school at a small private school, my math teacher passed away in the spring. In his absence, my high school could not find a substitute willing to work for the little amount the school could afford to pay them. The school board came to me and asked if I would be willing to teach a few classes while a licensed teacher was in the room. So, during that spring, I taught Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, and Physics. I want to be a tutor because helping students learn is where my heart and mind are. I love those moments in time when an idea clicks in the mind of a student. Journeying through the learning process with a student is one of the most enjoyable experiences in life.
