Education
I am a Junior Biochemistry major and Microbiology minor at Iowa State University, with plans of going on to Medical School following my undergraduate degree. My high school GPA was a 3.94, and my Iowa State University GPA is a 3.55. I love Biology and Chemistry, as well.
Experience
I have previous experience tutoring members of my baseball team to keep them academically eligible to play through high school, and was the Varsity team captain. I also have two younger siblings that I help with homework on a regular basis in all subject areas. As a Biochemistry major, Microbiology minor, and researcher in a Biochemistry laboratory, my strongest areas are in these subjects, as well as other life sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, etc. I have also taken through Calculus 3 for math, so I have a good understanding of algebra and calculus at all levels. Also, I took the ACT twice when applying for different colleges, and also took a class on it, where I was able to pick up several effective study methods that I would love to pass on to others (standardized tests such as the ACT are becoming increasingly important in college acceptance and scholarship applications). I was the recipient of over 15 local and state scholarships coming out of high school, totaling to more than $18,000, and would love to pass on tips for applying for scholarships as well coming out of high school (anyone can apply for scholarships; many have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and minimum ACT score of 18-20 to be considered).
