Experience
I achieved a 29 on my SAT in English and a 31 in Reading. I would love to be a tutor because I greatly enjoy helping people. I also struggled in math and science when I in elementary and high school and I had tutors that really helped me, so I would like to give back to the system. I am working to achieve a minor in journalism and mass communications so I'm always enrolled in different writing and communication classes that teach me a great deal. I am currently employed on campus with the Iowa State Department of Residence as part of their Summer Conference Staff. Out of 200 applicants only 18 were chosen. We work with all the guests from conference that attend Iowa State throughout the summer and live in our residence halls. We must be able to communicate efficiently with our guests and answer hard and confusing questions about schedules, procedures and directions. This job has greatly increased my effective communication skills which is also important when tutoring.
